Betterworks competitors and what eight rival vendors charge a 500-person company

Betterworks says it adds the most value above 500 employees, so that is the headcount this page prices. Each rival below was read on its own pricing page, and the last column is our multiplication of the published rate by 500 seats for one year. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the table says so instead of repeating a review-site estimate.

DIRECT ANSWER

Betterworks' main competitors are Lattice, 15Five, Leapsome, Small Improvements and PerformYard for performance management, plus Culture Amp, Quantum Workplace and Microsoft Viva Glint where the buyer mainly wants engagement surveys. Betterworks lists Performance at $8 and Performance plus Talent Intelligence at $9 per user a month, with Engage surveys only in its custom-priced Enterprise plan (betterworks.com/pricing, read 29 October 2026). For a 500-person company buying performance management alone, our arithmetic on each vendor's published rates puts year one at $48,000 on Betterworks, $60,000 on Lattice Performance, $66,000 on 15Five Perform, $42,000 to $84,000 on Leapsome depending on its platform fee, and $30,000 to $90,000 on PerformYard's published range. Betterworks is the cheapest published seat rate among the big suites except Leapsome with its fee waived, but it adds an unpublished implementation charge the others do not state.

Go deeper: this dimension works alongside Betterworks pricing with every line it publishes and Lattice competitors at 50 seats, and the guides on lattice vs betterworks and betterworks alternatives show the frameworks behind the scoring.

What each Betterworks competitor publishes on price, read at source

The Betterworks cells were read from betterworks.com/pricing on 29 October 2026. Lattice, 15Five, Small Improvements, PerformYard, Quantum Workplace and Leapsome were read off each vendor's own pricing page on 13 October 2026, and Viva Glint and Culture Amp on 12 October. The last column is our arithmetic for a 500-person company buying performance management at list price for one year, with engagement shown only where the vendor bundles it. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the table says so.

Vendor Published price Minimum or term Year one at 500 employees (our arithmetic)
Betterworks Performance $8, Performance plus Talent Intelligence $9 per user a month Engage only in custom Enterprise; implementation a separate one-time cost, amount not published; says it fits 500+ employees best $48,000 on Performance, $54,000 on Performance plus Talent Intelligence, before implementation
Lattice Performance $10, Goals and OKRs $8, Engagement $4, Foundations $13 a seat a month $4,000 minimum annual agreement, billed annually, USD only $60,000 on Performance alone
15Five Engage $4, Perform $11, Total Platform $16 per user a month Billed annually; no minimum spend on standard packages $66,000 on Perform alone
Leapsome Performance Reviews $7 per employee a month, plus a $7 platform fee waived with any module until 31 December Contract terms by quote $42,000 with the platform fee waived, $84,000 at full list
Small Improvements Launch $3, Grow $6, Elevate $9 per user a month Billed annually; volume discounts mentioned from 200 active users on Elevate $54,000 on Elevate, which covers reviews and engagement, before any volume discount
PerformYard $5 to $15 per person a month Per seat; exact rate by quote $30,000 to $90,000 on the published range
Workleap Standard $4,999 a year plus $32 per manager a month Enterprise quoted above 250 employees Not published at 500 employees
Quantum Workplace None per employee. Packages start at $15,000 $15,000 minimum annual contract $15,000 at the floor, engagement focus
Viva Glint $2.00 per user a month Paid yearly, 50-seat minimum, Microsoft 365 enterprise plan required $12,000 for engagement alone; no performance reviews
Culture Amp None. Depends on headcount, product and service tier Billed annually, quote only Not published
AssessmentCloud Flat $49, $119 or $279 a month, or $24, $59 or $139 a month billed yearly No per-employee meter, no annual minimum $708 billed yearly on Business. Not a review tool: it scores the company, not individuals

For the full Betterworks card with every plan and the lines it does not price, see Betterworks pricing. The closest head-to-head has its own page: Lattice vs Betterworks pricing works out where a lower seat rate stops winning. If you have already decided to leave, Betterworks alternatives lines up eight vendors on what each one actually publishes. The same exercise for other vendors lives on Lattice competitors, 15Five competitors and Leapsome competitors.

What you get

Betterworks undercuts Lattice and 15Five on the seat rate

Betterworks Performance is $8 a user a month. Lattice Performance is $10 and 15Five Perform is $11, so at 500 employees the gap is $12,000 and $18,000 a year before anything else. Lattice also states a $4,000 minimum annual agreement, which does not bite at this size. The part that closes the gap is implementation: Betterworks says it is a one-time cost on top of the per-user rate and publishes no figure.

Leapsome and Small Improvements are the real price rivals

Leapsome Performance Reviews is $7 a user a month and its $7 platform fee is waived with any module until 31 December, which makes $42,000 at 500 employees and $84,000 at full list. Small Improvements Elevate is $9 and covers reviews and engagement together, $54,000 at list, with volume discounts it mentions from 200 active users. All of these are our multiplications, not quotes.

Engagement is where the shortlist changes

Betterworks puts its Engage survey product in the Enterprise plan only, with no price. A buyer who needs engagement surveys on a published rate should compare Lattice Engagement at $4, 15Five Engage at $4 and Viva Glint at $2.00 a user a month, which is $12,000 at 500 employees for Glint alone. Quantum Workplace starts at a $15,000 annual contract. Culture Amp quotes on request.

Betterworks is the enterprise bet in this group

Its pricing FAQ says it adds the most value for organizations with over 500 employees, with a Professional Services team for design and launch. If you are at 150 people that is a fit signal pointing at Lattice, Leapsome or Small Improvements, not a reason to avoid Betterworks outright. Past 1,000 seats the published rate matters less than the negotiated one.

HOW IT WORKS

From setup to scored report

01

Decide which Betterworks plan you are replacing

Performance at $8 and Performance plus Talent Intelligence at $9 are performance and talent tools. Enterprise adds Engage, change management and program design and has no published price. Each plan has different rivals, so name the one you are actually comparing before you collect quotes.

02

Price every rival at your own headcount

Multiply each published per-user rate by your employee count and twelve, then check the vendor's floor: $4,000 a year on Lattice, 30 users on Small Improvements Elevate, a $15,000 contract on Quantum Workplace, 50 seats on Viva Glint. Ask whether any waiver, such as the Leapsome platform fee, ends after year one.

03

Ask for implementation as its own line

Betterworks states implementation is a separate one-time cost. Ask each rival whether setup, integrations and training are included, optional or billed, and get the figure in writing next to the seat rate so the year-one totals compare like for like.

04

Measure the company before you buy another people tool

Run one whole-company diagnostic first. If culture and engagement is the weakest dimension, buy the survey or review suite with confidence. If process or digital maturity scores lower, a better review cycle will measure the symptom rather than the cause.

DIAGNOSTIC INPUT, NOT A CERTIFIED AUDIT.

AssessmentCloud scores tell you how ready you are and what to fix. They do not certify you against SOC 2, ISO 27001, or any legal framework, and we never claim they do. Only an accredited auditor can certify you. Run the diagnostic first, walk into the audit without surprises, and spend auditor hours on certification instead of discovery.

FAQ

Questions about betterworks competitors

Betterworks' main competitors are Lattice, 15Five, Leapsome, Small Improvements and PerformYard in performance management, and Culture Amp, Quantum Workplace and Microsoft Viva Glint where the buyer mainly wants engagement surveys. Lattice and 15Five are the closest match on a published per-seat card, and Leapsome is the usual European rival.

Lattice is the rival that appears most often beside Betterworks, because both sell goals, feedback, conversations and reviews to mid-market and enterprise US companies. Betterworks lists Performance at $8 a user a month against Lattice Performance at $10, but Betterworks adds an unpublished one-time implementation charge.

On published list rates, yes. By our arithmetic a 500-person company pays $48,000 a year for Betterworks Performance, against $42,000 on Leapsome with its platform fee waived. Lattice at $60,000 and 15Five at $66,000 cost more on seat rate alone. Betterworks implementation is unpriced, so ask every vendor for setup as a written line.

Not in the published plans. Betterworks lists Engage only under its Enterprise plan, which is custom priced. The $8 Performance and $9 Performance plus Talent Intelligence plans cover goals, feedback, conversations, 1:1 meetings and talent features. Lattice, 15Five and Viva Glint print an engagement rate.

Betterworks costs $8 per user per month for Performance and $9 for Performance plus Talent Intelligence on its own pricing page. Enterprise is custom priced. At 500 users the $8 plan is $48,000 a year before implementation, by our arithmetic. Implementation is a separate one-time cost with no published amount.

For companies under 200 employees, Betterworks says its value is greatest above 500, so look at Small Improvements, Leapsome or Lattice instead. Small Improvements Launch starts at $3 a user a month with a 20-user minimum. Lattice states a $4,000 minimum annual agreement.

Ask for the year-one total at your exact headcount, the minimum annual spend, the contract term, what the price does at renewal, whether implementation is included, and whether any promotional waiver ends after year one. Leapsome's platform fee waiver and Betterworks' separate implementation charge are the two terms most likely to move the real cost.
