Glint vs Qualtrics Pricing for Employee Surveys Compared

OCTOBER 2026 · 7 MIN READ · BY THE ASSESSMENTCLOUD TEAM

Viva Glint has a published price and Qualtrics does not. Microsoft lists Viva Glint at $2.00 per user per month, paid yearly, with a 50-seat license minimum. Qualtrics shows Request Pricing on both of its Employee Experience packages and states only that they are priced based on employee count, with unlimited users in every product. So you can budget Glint to the dollar before a call, and you can only budget Qualtrics after one.

We read the Microsoft Viva Glint page and the Qualtrics pricing page on 1 October 2026. Yearly totals below are our arithmetic from Microsoft's published rate, and each one says so. We do not reprint the per-employee Qualtrics figures that circulate on review sites, because none of them appears on a Qualtrics page. We are not affiliated with Microsoft or Qualtrics and do not resell either product.

How much does Viva Glint cost?

Viva Glint costs $2.00 per user per month, billed yearly on an annual commitment that renews automatically. Microsoft's FAQ adds two conditions most comparison pages leave out: there is a 50-seat license minimum, and you buy it by asking your Microsoft representative to add Viva to an existing Microsoft 365 enterprise subscription. That makes the smallest possible Glint purchase 50 seats, or $1,200 a year by our arithmetic.

Microsoft's own service description, which we read for our Viva Glint pricing breakdown, marks Glint as a standalone SKU or part of the Viva Suite. It is not included in Microsoft 365 E5. Teams that assume their E5 agreement already covers employee surveys find out late that Glint is a separate line.

Licensed usersViva Glint per year (our arithmetic at $2.00)Inside the $6.00 bundle per year
50 (the minimum)$1,200$3,600
300$7,200$21,600
1,000$24,000$72,000
3,000$72,000$216,000

Those are list figures. Enterprise Agreements and partner deals can land lower, which is a reason to treat the table as the number you negotiate down from rather than a quote.

How much does Qualtrics employee experience cost?

Qualtrics does not say. Both Employee Experience packages on qualtrics.com/pricing carry a Request Pricing button, and the pricing metric row reads "Based on employee count" for each. The page makes two other commitments in writing: within every product its technology is included for an unlimited number of users, and you pay for planned usage on metrics you can forecast.

The only figure Qualtrics prints anywhere, on its free account comparison page, is for Strategic Research, a market research product, at $420 a month billed annually when we checked it in September. It tells you nothing about an employee program. Our Qualtrics pricing page sets out every metric Qualtrics does publish, product line by product line.

You will see per-employee Qualtrics numbers on review and procurement sites. Some of them put Qualtrics below Glint, some above. They are estimates built from other companies' contracts. If you put one in a budget request and the real quote comes back different, you lose more credibility than you would by waiting for the quote.

Is Glint cheaper than Qualtrics?

On published information, Glint is the only one of the two you can price, so it is the only one you can call cheap. At $2.00 per user a month it is among the lowest list rates in enterprise employee listening. Whether it is cheaper than your Qualtrics quote depends on what Qualtrics offers for your headcount, and two structural differences matter more than the headline rate.

First, the meter. Glint licenses users. Qualtrics licenses employee count and lets unlimited users log in. If you want every manager and HR partner reading dashboards, check how Microsoft counts those people in your tenant, because under the Qualtrics model they cost nothing extra.

Second, the prerequisite. Glint assumes you are a Microsoft 365 enterprise customer. If you are, the $2.00 line is close to frictionless: same vendor, same admin center, same renewal cycle. If you are not, Glint is not really a $2.00 product for you, and comparing it with Qualtrics on rate alone misses the point.

Which one should a US company of 300 to 3,000 people pick?

Pick Viva Glint if you already run Microsoft 365 enterprise licensing, want employee surveys that sit next to Teams and Copilot adoption data, and value a price you can put in a budget this week. It is the obvious low-friction choice for a Microsoft shop, and nothing else in this category publishes a rate that low.

Pick Qualtrics if employee experience is one part of a wider program that also covers customer experience or market research, if you want unlimited dashboard users written into the deal, or if your survey design needs go beyond what an engagement template covers. Expect a sales process, and expect the quote to be sized on headcount.

If Workday is your HR system, there is a third name to price alongside these two. Our Peakon vs Qualtrics pricing comparison covers the 3-year, full-headcount term Workday sets out in its own filing, which changes the math more than any per-employee rate does.

What happens to Glint data if you cancel?

Microsoft states on the Viva Glint page that when a subscription is canceled, all associated data is deleted, and that certain subscriptions may incur a cancellation fee. That is normal for a cloud license, but it matters if you might switch vendors later. Export your survey history and benchmark trends before the renewal date, not after. Because the commitment renews automatically every year, it is worth having renewal alerts for recurring software spend set well ahead of the date, so the decision to stay or switch happens while you still have a choice.

Qualtrics publishes no cancellation or data-retention terms on its pricing page. Ask for them in writing, alongside the contract term, before you sign.

Questions to put to both sales teams

Send both vendors the same licensed population and ask four things. What term does the quote assume, and does it renew automatically? How are added employees priced mid-term? Who counts as a licensed user, and do managers who only read dashboards need a seat? What happens to our data and history if we leave? Two quotes answered on the same four points are comparable. Two headline rates are not.

Then annualize both and multiply by the term. A Glint total is easy to calculate from Microsoft's card. A Qualtrics total exists only once you have the quote, so set the Glint figure as the anchor and ask Qualtrics to justify the gap, in either direction.

Where AssessmentCloud fits

AssessmentCloud is not a third listening platform, and it does not replace either of these for a company that wants always-on engagement surveys across thousands of people. It does a narrower job: it scores the whole organization across culture and engagement, process maturity, digital maturity, skills gaps and compliance readiness, and returns one 0 to 100 score against an industry median with a prioritized action plan. Pricing is flat and published on our pricing page, from $49 a month, with no per-employee meter and no annual minimum. Teams use it before signing a multi-year listening contract, to find out which part of the business needs the listening in the first place.

If Glint is your front-runner and you want to see how it stacks up against the other names on a typical shortlist, our Culture Amp vs Gallup Q12 vs Viva Glint comparison covers three different ways of buying engagement measurement, and the Viva Glint alternatives page lists what other vendors publish on price.
